Current State Analysis
The know-how capital of a company is connected both to the people as well as to the company itself. Immaterial property constitutes that part of the company’s know-how capital which can be bound to the company and is not lost with people. Immaterial property includes for instance IP rights (patents, trademarks etc.), brands, contracts, computer programmes, databases, ways of action and methods.
By the current state analysis, we examine the immaterial property of the customer company from a strategic viewpoint. We investigate the level of awareness of this immaterial property within the company and the way in which IPR matters are managed and organized. The analysis also serves to determine the protection status of IP, the risks and possibilities related thereto and those business objectives which influence the development needs of IP.
