Patent Attorney

Patent Attorney Sampo Ylätalo (Ph.D.) manages the patenting of inventions related to physics, especially in the fields of electrics, aerosols, optics and materials, both nationally as a registered patent attorney in Finland and internationally. He educates in matters related to IPR and innovation activity. He also performs novelty searches, technology surveys and freedom-to-operate analyses.

In the year 2008 Sampo came to BORENIUS & Co. He has worked in the patent field since 1999 and in the field of physics since 1988. Previously Sampo worked a long time as a researcher, for instance at the university and government research institute. Sampo also gained experience from working abroad through an exchange program for researchers in Switzerland.

Sampo concentrated his Ph.D. studies on aerosol physics, especially electrical air purification. His basic university degree he holds in education of physics and mathematics, as well as chemistry. Sampo’s language skills include English, Swedish and German, besides his mother tongue Finnish.

In addition to the Association of Finnish Patent Attorneys, Sampo is a member of the following associations: FICPI, the Finnish Association for Industrial Property Rights and ASM.

Sampo’s leisure activities include apparatus construction, skiing, biking and shooting sports.
